5 Best Women Centric Malayalam Films

As the feminist wave take ove the cinematic atmosphere, Malayalam film is a long ways ahead. The Industry has consistently made solid leads and substantial parts for women.

1) 22 Female Kottayam

Naalu Pennungal (Four Women) is a 2007 Malayalam film produced and directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan based on four short stories composed by Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai. The film stars Padmapriya, Geethu Mohandas, Manju Pillai, and Nandita Das in the significant jobs. The film chronicles a journey of womanhood across grouped sceneries with an exemplary combination of source matters and methods that amazingly ranges times and frames. The film has four different parts - each adjusted from independent short stories by Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai. Every one of the parts portray the tales of ladies from various from different strata of the society. 


3) Achuvinte Amma


Achuvinte Amma is a 2005 Indian Malayam-language movie directed by Sathyan Anthikad and composed by Ranjan Pramod. It stars Urvashi, Meera Jasmine and Narain in lead roles.

A film that tells the profound established connection between a mother, Vanaja (Uravashi) and a girl Achu (Meera Jasmine). The film proceeded to win a few awards including the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress (Urvashi), Filmfare Award for Best Film - Malayalam and Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Malayalam for Meera Jasmine.


4) Kallimanu



Kalimannu is a Malayalam drama film written and directed by Blessy and starring Swetha Menon in the lead job and Biju Menon, Suhasini in Major Supporting roles. 

The film depicts the relationship of the protagonist with her infant, when it is born. Swetha Menon's genuine conveyance was shot live on camera for the film.


5) How old are you?



How Old Are You? is a 2014 Indian Malayam-language family drama film directed by Rosshan Andrrews, written by Bobby Sanjay and produced by Listin Stephen. It stars Manju Warrier, Kunchacko Boban, Kaniha, Lalu Alex and Amritha Anil.The marks the arrival of Warrier following a 14-year vacation in film. 

She plays Nirupama Rajeev, a UD clerk in the Revenue Department, who develops from an common-woman to a public figure by reexamining herself. 

The film was released on 17 May 2014. It got positive reviews from pundits and was a significant commercial success of the year in the cinematic world. Warrier won a record fifth Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Malayalam for her role. How Old Are You?
